CONDITION
Customer statement:Β
- Google Streetview is no longer available in the navigation map screen when zooming into the map while parked
Or
- The customer no longer sees the Streetview image of the entered navigation destination
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Google Streetview (Figure 1) was turned off on December 4, 2017 and will no longer be supported by vehicles built with Audi connect Generation 1 nor for Audi connect Generation 2. The peg man icon (Figure 2) will no longer be visible when the user zooms down to the lowest level of the map in an area where a Google Streetview image is available via the web version of Google Maps. The peg man icon will also be missing from the Virtual Cockpit (Figure 3).
Additionally, the Google Streetview image shown for the navigation destination will no longer be shown in the MMI nor in the Virtual Cockpit (Figure 4).
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
Please inform the customer the Google Streetview service was turned off by Google and there is no service software or hardware upgrade that would re-enable this feature.
