CONDITION

  • The engine warning light is on after engine replacement.
  • The engine is not running roughly. However, one of the following fault codes is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (01):
    • DTC P0300  (Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected)
    • DTC P0301  (Cyl. 1 misfire detected)
    • DTC P0302  (Cyl. 2 misfire detected)
    • DTC P0303  (Cyl. 3 misfire detected)
    • DTC P0304  (Cyl. 4 misfire detected)
    • DTC P0305  (Cyl. 5 misfire detected)
    • DTC P0306  (Cyl. 6 misfire detected)
    • DTC P0307  (Cyl. 7 misfire detected)
    • DTC P0308  (Cyl. 8 misfire detected)
  • The fault codes occur at light load, between 8% and 14% accelerator pedal position.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

The programmed values for the misfire adaption are not automatically reset when the memory is deleted. The adaption must be reset after the engine is installed.
