CONDITION
- When the "EV Mode" button is pressed, the message "EV mode is currently unavailable" (Figure 1) appears in the DIS, and EV mode does not activate.
- DTC U044700 (Diagnostic interface for data bus - Range/Performance) is stored in the engine control module, J623 (address word 01).
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
If the battery management system detects an issue with the A1 auxiliary battery, EV Mode is disabled.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Revised A1 battery.
SERVICE
- Perform the A1 battery test (Figure 2) through Guided Fault Finding >> Function / Component Selection >> Body >> Electrical equipment >> 27 >> Electrical components >> A1 - Auxiliary Battery, testing.
- Follow the instructions provided at the end of the test. If the battery is diagnosed as faulty, perform the test plan A1-Auxiliary battery, adaptation after replacing
(Figure 3) after replacement of the battery.
