2012 Audi A4 2.0T Avant QuattroSECTION Speech Input Control Module From 11.03.2008

The voice control system is part of the information electronics control module 1 -J794- (MMI) inside the instrument panel. It cannot be replaced alone.

If it is faulty, then the information electronics control module 1 -J794- must be replaced.

-- Turn off all electrical consumers.

-- Remove the key.

-- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding".

Use the Removal and Installation.

Removing 

-- Remove the information electronics control module 1 -J794-. Refer to INFORMATION ELECTRONICS CONTROL MODULE 1 -J794- .

Installing 

-- Install the information electronics control module 1 -J794-. Refer to INFORMATION ELECTRONICS CONTROL MODULE 1 -J794- .

Perform the following function test:

-- Switch on the radio.

-- Briefly depress PTT  button on multifunction steering wheel.

A "Ping" tone sounds, the speech input system is active.

-- Say "Help".

Since the radio is active, the speech dialog system responds with "Commands for the radio are...".

Depending on the equipment, other functions can be selected:

-- If a telephone is installed, say "telephone".

The speech dialog system switches to the telephone mode.

-- Press and hold the PPT  button for approximately 1 second.

The speech dialog system responds with "Cancel" and is deactivated.
