Telephone System Through May 2009
The telephone system consists of the cell phone pre-installation.
The Telephone Transceiver -R36- is integrated in the MMI infotainment system via the MOST bus. It has also a Bluetooth interface.
The Telephone Baseplate -R126- is installed in the center armrest. Operation is performed via Multimedia Control Head -E380- or via Cellular Telephone -R54-.
Microphones for the microphone unit (in front roof module) -W1- are installed in the front interior lamp -R164-. One microphone is connected (Telephone Microphone -R38-) with the Telephone Transceiver -R36-.
Fault finding is performed via "Guided Fault Finding"Β Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Notes on Bluetooth technology
Bluetooth technology is a standardized radio wave data transmission system.
An additional transmitter/receiver unit is installed in the Telephone Transceiver -R36-. A separate "Bluetooth Antenna" connects the Telephone Transceiver -R36- and Telephone Baseplate -R126- so that all Cellular Telephones -R54- can be used cordless via Bluetooth technology.
The range of the radio wave connection is approximately 10 meters.
