CONDITION
- Door handle touch sensors (Audi Advanced Key) are intermittently inoperative on one or several doors, often after driving in the rain or through a car wash.
- No relevant DTCs are stored.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Water may enter the door handle touch sensor rubber sleeve and prevent proper operation.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
- Check the Advanced Key touch sensor opening (unlock) and closing (lock) signal on every door handle by monitoring Measuring Value Block 43 in address word 05.
- Replace only the door handle sensor(s) which do not respond correctly in the Measuring Value Block.
