Navigation System, Error Messages On Screen
Special tools and workshop equipment requiredΒ
- Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051
If there is a malfunction in the system, either a fault is saved in the DTC and/or an error message is given on the Operating Electronics, Navigation Control Module -J402- display.
At this time, the following error messages can be shown on the operating electronics/navigation system control module display.
Indicator in display:
| CD/DVD is unreadable Please check the CD/DVD |
This error message appears:
- DVD cannot be read.
- DVD is faulty.
- DVD drive is faulty.
-- See if DVD drive can read a replacement DVD.
Same error:
-- Perform in adaptation channel 41.
Use the VAS 5051 to do so.
Indicator in display:
| CD/DVD drive defect. Unable to read data. Consult your dealer. |
This error message appears:
- DVD drive cannot read DVD data.
- DVD is faulty.
- DVD drive is faulty.
-- See if DVD drive can read a replacement DVD.
Same error:
-- Perform in adaptation channel 41.
Use the VAS 5051 to do so.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
