Checking remaining cut display

  • First check the remaining cut display:
  • Cutting device of Pliers For Fibre-optic Conductor VAS 6223/1 can perform approx. 1260 cuts. The cutter is advanced at each step for this purpose.
  • The last remaining 150 cuts are indicated via the remaining cut display - arrow  -.
  • If there are no more cuts available, the cutting device locks. It must be replaced Operating instructions of Pliers For Fibre-optic Conductor VAS 6223/1.

Preparing Pliers For Fibre-optic Conductor VAS 6223/1

  • Release transport safety device on cutter by loosening hex socket bolt - arrow  -.

Cutting fiber-optic cable to length

  • Determine the required length of fiber-optic cable.
  • Open Pliers For Fibre-optic Conductor VAS 6223/1 and insert fiber-optic cable - - into trimming station.
  • Close cutting pliers to cut fiber-optic cable to length.

Stripping

  • Open Pliers For Fibre-optic Conductor VAS 6223/1.
  • Stripping lever must be located in the lower position - arrow  -.
  • Insert fiber-optic cable - - into stripping station.
  • Fiber-optic cable must terminate flush to rear side of cutting pliers.

  • Close Pliers For Fibre-optic Conductor VAS 6223/1 until stop and keep closed.
  • Pivot stripping lever upward - arrow  -.
  • Open cutting pliers and remove fiber-optic cable - -.
  • Remove the separated stripped piece from fiber-optic cable.

Cutting precisely (creating optical contact surface)

  • Slide fiber-optic cable - - into cutting station.
  • Insulation must make contact at stop - arrow  - of cutting station.
  • Close Pliers For Fibre-optic Conductor VAS 6223/1.

  • Press down - arrow  - cutting device.
  • Open Pliers For Fibre-optic Conductor VAS 6223/1 and remove fiber-optic cable - -.
