CONDITION

The customer may report that the option Instrument cluster  cannot be selected in the MMI Car Systems menu.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

The option may disappear after performing a Zug 864 MMI software update. Adaptation channel 11 has to be changed in the 07 - Display/operating unit high.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Not applicable.

SERVICE

  1. Select Vehicle Self Diagnosis >> 07 - Display/operating unit high >> 011 - Adaptation. 
  2. Enter 11  to access Adaptation channel 11.
  3. Add 16 to the displayed value.

    Tip:  The value usually displayed is 36 and must be set to 36 + 16 = 52. 

  4. Accept and save the new value.
  5. Perform a MMI system reset. Enter 111  to access Adaptation channel 111.
  6. Enter . Accept and save the value.
  7. Verify that the option Instrument cluster  appears in the MMI Car Systems menu.

    If the option Instrument cluster  is still not displayed:

    1. Turn off all electrical systems.
    2. Lock the vehicle doors.
    3. Wait 5 minutes until the vehicle systems are in sleep mode.
    4. Return to the vehicle and verify whether the option Instrument cluster  is now displayed.
