TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN
| AUDI: | A4, A6 |
CONDITION
- MIL on.
- Misfire DTCs (P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305 or P0306) are stored in the ECM.
- Freeze frame data indicates DTCs stored during cold start (engine coolant temperature between 18 - 36°C).
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Software update is needed.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
New software in the 4F2 910 559 H Control Module (J623) addressed the condition.
SERVICE
- Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
- Update the ECM using the SVM action code as listed in the table below, if necessary.
- Perform a short test drive.
- Verify repair during cold start next morning via recording MVB 14 and 15 (ambient temperature between 50 - 80°F).
Tip: Based on normal fuel quality variation under certain ambient conditions some single misfires may be recorded during cold start (catalytic converter heating phase). This will have no negative effect, no further investigation is needed.
