2005 Audi A6 3.2 TSECTION Selector Mechanism Overview
WARNING:

Before working on a running engine, move the selector lever to "P" and push the parking brake button in order to lock the electro-mechanical parking brake.

Before disassembling the selector mechanism, perform check, refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, CHECKING .

  1. Lock Washer
  2. Noise Insulation
  3. Clip
    • For the selector lever cable on the selector mechanism function unit
  4. Selector Lever Cable
    • Do not bend
    • Removing and installing, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE 
    • In case of damaged rubber boot, selector lever cable must be replaced.
    • Lightly lubricate ball socket with Polycarbamide GreaseG 052 142 A2 before installing.
    • When installing, make sure rubber sleeve on transmission side is not twisted.
    • Adjusting, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING 
  5. Clamping Screw
    • 13 Nm
  6. Selector Lever Cable Bolts
    • To remove selector lever cable, move plastic retaining spring at selector mechanism forward slightly and put screws upward, only as far as necessary.
  7. Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-
  8. Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26-
  9. Clamp
    • For securing the selector lever handle to the selector lever
    • Removing and installing, refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE 
  10. Selector Lever Boot
  11. Selector Lever Handle
  12. Trim Ring
  13. Bolt
    • 1.2 Nm
  14. Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module -J587- with Tiptronic Switch -F189-
  15. Transmission Park Selector Switch -F305-
  16. Nut
    • 10 Nm
  17. Selector Mechanism Function Unit
  18. Noise Insulation
  19. Nut
    • 10 Nm
