CLIMATRONIC Control Module A/C Control Head: Removing

2005 Audi A6 3.2 TSECTION Removing

-- Check coding and adaptation of A/C control head Climatronic Control Module -J255- via the Replace Control Module function of Guided Fault Finding (in the event that A/C control head Climatronic Control Module -J255- is to be replaced).

-- Switch off ignition.

NOTE:

The removal of the Climatronic Control Module -J255- A/C control head is identical for both Comfort and Basic versions.

The Climatronic Control Module -J255- A/C control head -A- is secured in the center console by four retaining clips -E-.

As of the beginning of 2006, Climatronic Control Module -J255- are installed with gradual introduction of modified clips -A- on the top (clips on bottom remain the same, version -B-), at the same time instrument panel center sections with modified mounting bracket for the top clips version -C- are also introduced. For Climatronic Control Module -J255- units on which clip -B- is installed (force-fitted clip with an angle of approximately 120Β° installed, on the version that was installed up to beginning of 2006, panel colored pearl-gray metallic), this control and display unit can be removed without removing the center instrument panel vent.

For Climatronic Control Module -J255- units on which clip -C- is installed (form-fitted clip with an angle of approximately 65Β° installed, on the version that was installed as of beginning of 2006, panel colored black), this control and display unit can only be removed with the center instrument panel vent removed. Refer to CLIMATRONIC CONTROL MODULE A/C CONTROL HEADΒ  . So that clips -C- can be disengaged, one slot -D- each in the instrument panel center section has been installed in the area of the upper mounting bracket for clips.
