This diagnostic mode checks the fuel system for leaks.

NOTE:
  • The Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve N80 and the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) V144 seal the tank system.

Test requirements 

Test sequence 

  • Connect diagnostic tester. → Diagnostic tester, connecting .
  • Start engine and let run at idle for at least 15 minutes.
  • In diagnostic function "address word 33 - OBD" select "Mode 8: Tank Leak Test".
  • Select "Test-ID 01: Tank Leak Test".
  • Check specified value of tank leak test at idle.

NOTE:
  • If the accelerator pedal is depressed during the test, the test will be aborted.
  • To repeat the tank test, switch the ignition off and start the engine again and let run for 15 minutes at idle.
  • End diagnosis and switch the ignition off.

Final procedures 

After repair work, the following work steps must be performed in the mentioned sequence:

  1. Check DTC memory..
  2. If necessary, erase DTC memory..
  3. If DTC memory was erased, generate readiness code..
  • End diagnosis and switch ignition off.
