Special tools and workshop equipment requiredΒ 

  • Commercially available scale with a measuring exactness of Β±1 gram.
WARNING:

The brake rotor ring and the brake rotor cup are attached to each other and must never be separated. Never loosen the threaded connector on the brake rotor cup.

Procedure

-- To weigh, remove the front brake rotor

-- To weigh, remove the rear brake rotor

NOTE:

Depending on the version, the minimum weight of the brake rotor is stamped on the brake rotor cup. If the stamped-on minimum weight has been reached or falls short, replace the brake rotor. Always replace the brake rotors on both sides of the axle.

  • Clean and dry the brake rotor before weighing it.
CAUTION:

Never clean the brake rotor with water or any other fluid. This will make the measuring result incorrect.
