Front Bake Caliper, RS 6, Repositioning: Removing
Special tools and workshop equipment requiredΒ
- Torque Wrench 40-200 NmVAG1332
- Reversible RatchetVAG 1332/1
- Piston Resetting ToolT10145
-- Raise the vehicle.
-- Remove the wheels.
-- Unclip the brake hose from the pivot bearing
-- Unclip the brake pad wear wire.
Press the brake pads with the Piston Resetting ToolT10145 if necessary. Position the tool on the brake pad backing plates and carefully push the brake pads downward.
-- Remove the bolts -1-.
-- Carefully remove the brake caliper with the brake pads still installed.
Do not disassemble the brake caliper. Do not loosen any screws on the brake caliper.
Do not let the brake caliper with the brake carrier hang from the brake hose. Secure it to the body with suitable cable ties or wire. Do not support the weight with the brake hose.
Do not press the brake pedal when the caliper is removed.
