2005 Audi A6 3.2 TSECTION External Audio Source Connection

There are several versions external audio source connections -R199-.

MOST versions, MMI (through 29 August 2008)

The AMI (Audi Music Interface) version is installed in the glove compartment.

This external audio source connections is connected to the Infotainment system via the MOST bus.

The AUX IN socket version is installed in the center console storage compartment.

This external audio source connections is connected directly to the digital sound system control module -J525-.

Either an AMI or AUX IN socket is installed.

MOST versions, MMI from 1 September 2008

The AMI is a component of the information electronics control module 1 -J794-.

The interface is located in the glove compartment.

Different external audio sources can be connected to the external audio source connections :

  • iPod
  • MP3-Player
  • USB Stick

A suitable adapter cable is needed.

Fault finding is performed via guided fault finding using vehicle diagnosis, testing & info. system VAS5051B.
