Removing
- In vehicles with Telematics, activate Telephone/Telematics Control Module J526 → Service mode, activating/deactivating service mode.
- Disconnect battery ground wire → - 27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL .
- Follow safety precautions for airbag systems → - 69 - PASSENGER PROTECTION - AIRBAGS, SEAT BELTS .
- Remove drivers airbag → - 69 - PASSENGER PROTECTION - AIRBAGS, SEAT BELTS .
- Disconnect harness connector - 1 - at button - 2 -.
- Slide button - 2 - out of steering wheel in direction of arrow.
- Turn the button around.
- Disconnect harness connector - 2 - to Tiptronic switch at multi-function button - 1 - and remove it.
Installing
- Install in reverse order.
Removing and installing the left multi-function button is identical.
