Adaptation (Function 10) In Channel 03, Performing
- Check DTC memory of A/C Control Head -E87- and eliminate all displayed malfunctions.
- Check coding of A/C Control Head -E87- for vehicle equipment options and correct if necessary.
Indicated on display of VAS 5051:
- Select "Adaptation" function 10.
Indicated on display of VAS 5051:
- Display field -1- indicates the request to input channel number.
- Display field -2- shows input keyboard.
- Input the desired channel number in display field -2- via the keyboard (See overview of designated adaptation channels) and confirm by pressing the -Q-button.
NOTE:
- If "Function unknown or cannot be performed at the moment" is displayed in display field -1-, the following may be the cause:
- The control module adaptation has not been carried out according to specification and was not completed.
- The CAN-bus comfort system has a malfunction.
Indicated on display of VAS 5051:
- Display field -1- indicates "Channel X read and test".
- In area -2-, the currently adjusted value for this function is displayed.
- In area -3-, a scroll bar appears with an identification number for the currently valid adjustment.
- The adjustment can be changed within the determined limits via the scroll bar.
NOTE:
- If an identification number is entered via scroll bar that is outside the determined limits, the identification number is shown but will not be implemented.
- If an identification number which is too large or too small is entered via scroll bar, the display changes back automatically.
- In area -2-, the newly adjusted value for this adaptation channel is displayed.
The input can also be carried out using the keyboard
- Touch button -4- (input via keyboard)
Indicated on display of VAS 5051:
- In display field -1- occurs the display "input adaptation value": 0....XXXXX".
- Display field -2- shows input keyboard.
- Input in the display field the desired value for this adaptation channel via the keyboard (see overview of designated adaptation channels) for the new adaptation of the A/C control head -E87-.
NOTE:
- If an identification number is entered via keyboard that is outside the determined limits, the identification number is shown but will not be implemented.
- If an identification number which is too large or too small is entered via keyboard, the display changes back automatically.
- The entered identification number is displayed in area -2-.
- Press -Q-button to confirm input.
Indicated on display of VAS 5051:
- In area -2-, the new value for this adaptation channel is displayed.
- The entered identification number appears in area -3- above the scroll bar.
- Save input by touching button -5-.
Indicated on display of VAS 5051:
- Display field -1- indicates "Channel X save".
- In area -2-, the new value for this adaptation channel is displayed.
- In area -3- appears the original and new identification number for this adaptation channel.
- Accept and save input by touching button -4-.
- Display field -1- indicates "Channel X save, value 0 - XXXX saved".
NOTE:
- If an identification number that is outside the determined limits was entered, the identification number is shown but will not be implemented.
- If an identification number which is too large or too small was entered, the display changes back automatically.
- By clicking the <- button you will return to the selection menu.
- End On Board Diagnostic (OBD) and switch ignition off.
- Check function of the new, entered adaptation.
