Instrument panel, removing and installing: Removing: All

1999 Audi A8 BaseSECTION All
  • Place steering column switch -4- with connected wires to side.
  • Loosen clamping bolt -3- and remove steering column switch left -1- from steering column.
  • Lines remain connected.

  • Remove two bolts -1- with washers -2- (2.5 Nm/22 in.lb.).
  • Remove cover -3-.

  • Remove steering column from support for instrument panel (bolts -1-) and place in foot outlet.
    • Do not pull steering column apart!
    NOTE: Do not loosen nut -2-!

  • Remove control module for ABS/EDS from support for instrument panel.
  • Where available, unhook auxiliary relay at support for instrument panel.
  • Remove support -2- between support for instrument panel and transmission tunnel (screws -1- and -3-).
