Adaptation (function 10): Notes

1999 Audi A6 BaseSECTION Notes

Use this function to initiate and store the following changes:

  • Transport Mode - activate or deactivate

The Telematic system is disabled (switched-off) when Transport Mode is activated. This is necessary to reduce battery drain when vehicles are transported over long distances or stored for longer periods of time.

  • Emergency (back-up) battery - switch on/off, reset time register

An existing emergency (back-up) battery must be switched-off prior to disconnecting the vehicle battery and switched back on after the vehicle battery is reconnected.

Replacement of the emergency (back-up) battery necessitates resetting the Telephone/Telematic Control Module's emergency (back-up) battery time register. The time register keeps track of how long an emergency battery has powered the Telephone/Telematics Control Module (in cases where the vehicle battery is/was dead, disconnected etc.)

Individual functions are called up by entering the appropriate adaptation channel numbers (Listed in the adaptation table. See Adaptation table:Β  .)
