Code Control Module (Function 07)


NOTE:
- Control module is not factory-coded.
- The airbag malfunction light always lights up when the control module is not encoded.

If the appropriate coding is not displayed at the V.A.G 1551 or the control module has been replaced the coding of the control module is carried out as follows:

- Enter "07" for the function "Code Control Module" and confirm entry with Q key.

Enter code number XXXXX (0-32000)


- Enter valid 5-digit control module code in line with code table.

- Confirm entry with Q key.

The display on the scan tool V.A.G 1551 will show the control module identification code (example).

- With Airbag 8 (introduced as of 10.98) the coding changes from 2 to 1 and from 4 to 3 see coding table.
- Changing coding from 01425 to 01325 or 01225 to 01125 (examples).
