Steering Ignition Switch, Servicing
CAUTION!
Before working on the electrical system:
- Determine the correct coding for the anti-theft radio.
- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
NOTE: After reconnecting the battery be sure to reactivate the radio, clock, power windows and engine.
Ignition Switch, Removing and Installing
Removing:
- Remove steering column switches.
- Disconnect electrical connectors at ignition switch.
- Remove sealing paint from heads of screws -A-.
- Loosen screws -A- slightly and pull out ignition switch against direction of arrow -B- from the ignition lock housing.
Installing:
NOTE:
- During installation, both ignition switch and lock cylinder must be in the same position such as "ignition ON".
- After tightening screws, reseal them with paint.
- Installation is in reverse order of removal.
