- Connect VAG1551 or VAG1552 Scan Tool (ST), and press buttons -0- and -1- to insert "Engine Electronics" address word 01 (engine running at idle). Refer "Scan Tool Testing/Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks/Connecting VAG1551 or VAG1552 Scan Tool" Testing and Inspection

- Press buttons -0- and -8- to select "Read Measuring Value Block" function 08, and press -Q- button to confirm input.

- Check specified values for IMT valve function (display fields 1 and 4):
- Check display field 4.
Specified value: "SU-V OFF"
- Raise engine speed to approx. 4200 RPM and hold (display field 1) and check operating condition in display field 4.
- Specified value: "SU-V ON"
- At the same time, the valve must cycle (change over) one time.
If "SU-V ON" is displayed but the change-over does not occur:
- Check pneumatic function of IMT valve. Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve Pneumatic Function, Checking
