1998 Audi A8 Sedan (4D2) V8-3.7L (AEW)SECTION EVAP System, Automatic Leak Testing

The ECM performs at certain intervals a tank leak test with the engine running, e.g. shortly after the engine is started.

A leak test can be evaluated using the VAS5051 or the VAG1551 scan tool, using the "Read Measuring Value Block" function, EVAP System, Leak Testing Using VAS5051 or VAG1551

If the system is OK:
- This is displayed in display group 071

Read Measuring Value Block 71 ->
Reed open Check. END Syst.OK

If the automatic tank leak test was aborted due to incorrect test results:
- This is displayed in display group 071

Read Measuring Value Block 71 ->
Reed closed Abort Test OFF

If the system is not OK:

System in Basic Setting 71 ->
Reed cl Lg. Leak END Syst.n.OK

- "Syst.n.OK" appears in display group 071 (example).

- In addition, a DTC will be stored in DTC memory (example):

NOTE: The tank leak test with the Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS5051 or VAG1551 will not be hindered by the automatic tank leak test.
