NOTE:
- VAG1598/19 must not be connected during diagnostic testing using the VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST).
- Wait at least 10 seconds after switching the ignition off before disconnecting the Engine Control Module (ECM) harness connector
- When the ECM is disconnected, the ECM's learned values are erased, but malfunctions stored in DTC memory are retained.
- After reconnecting the ECM, check engine basic settings and generate readiness code.

- Switch ignition off.
- Disconnect Engine Control Module (ECM).
- Connect VAG1598 test box with adapter cable VAG1598/19 to ECM wiring harness.
