Wiring harness and connector repairs must be done only with the VAS1978 wiring harness repair kit.
When routing wiring or harnesses through openings in sheet metal, make sure that original equipment grommets are used as listed in the parts catalog.
Only use original equipment, tin-plated (eyelet type) ground terminals as listed in the parts catalog.
Badly corroded ground terminal blocks -1- can be repaired by grinding off an amount no greater than dimension -a-:
a = 2.5 times the bolt outside diameter
Tightening torque for ground connections:
Ground connection Tightening torque
Bolts with M6 thread 9.5 + 0.5 Nm
(58 + 4 in. lb)
Bolts with M8 thread 23 + 3 Nm
(17 + 2 ft lb)

Wiring harness and connector repairs must be done only with the VAS1978 wiring harness repair kit.

- Do not repair shielded wiring that is part of the ABS system.
