Oil level, checking
^ Engine warm-oil temperature greater than 60°C (140°F)
^ Vehicle on level ground
^ After stopping engine, wait a few minutes to allow the oil to flow back into the pan.
- Withdraw dipstick, wipe off with clean rag and fully re-insert.
- Withdraw dipstick again and read oil level.
Range of markings on dipstick:
a - Oil MUST NOT be topped off
b - Oil may be topped off
After topping off oil, it is sufficient for the oil level to be somewhere in range -a- Oil MUST BE topped off
After topping off oil, it is sufficient for the oil level to be somewhere in range -b- (shaded area)
After topping off oil, it is sufficient for the oil level to be somewhere in range -c- (shaded area).
CAUTION: Oil level must not exceed the "MAX" mark on the dipstick.
