Coding variants: A/C control head -E87- is coded according to engine, market version and the A/C compressor that is installed.
Example for A/C control head -E87- up to index "H":
8-cylinder gasoline engine: 00182 (USA with Nippondenso A/C compressor)
Example for A/C control head -E87- from index "J":
8-cylinder gasoline engine: 00180 (USA)

NOTE:
- Only an A/C control head -E87- identified with index "C" should be installed or will be installed (this version of -E87- can control a Nippondenso A/C compressor without speed sensor -G111-).
- If a new A/C control head -E87- is installed and it is not coded, the display of -E87- blinks (after the ignition is switched on).
- For assignment of A/C control head -E87- See parts catalog
- All illegal codings are suppressed by A/C control head -E87- and the coding: 00062, 6-cylinder engine USA is stored.
- If another code has been entered other than listed above, compressor will run a short time (shut off immediately).
Coding A/C control head -E87-, beginning at index "J"
Coding A/C control head -E87-, model year 2000 >
NOTE:
- A new control head -E87- with part number up to Index "K" is coded to 6-Cyl. engine, USA. Code can only be written over by a valid code. Otherwise coding remains "6-cyl. - engine, USA" confirmed.
- A new control head -E87- with pad number beginning at index letter "M" is coded to "00001". Code can only be written over by a valid code. Otherwise coding remains and DTC memory displays "Control module coded wrong."
