A/C compressor, removing and installing
- Discharge A/C refrigerant system.
- Remove compressor from mounting bracket.
- Disconnect refrigerant lines from the compressor (tightening torques and O-rings).
CAUTION!
- Mark travel direction of ribbed belt before removing. Reversing direction could cause belt to fail.
- If a new compressor is installed, or if system has lust been recharged, manually turn the A/C compressor 10 rotations before operating the system to prevent compressor damage.
NOTE:
- If a compressor is to be shipped for quality monitoring, connections should be sealed with caps.
- Replace compressor.
- When first operating compressor start engine with compressor switched off ("OFF" mode). Wait until the idle speed has stabilized before switching the compressor on and then run at idle for at least 10 minutes.
- Removing and installing ribbed V-belt
