Checking Fluid Level
Remove oil filler plug. See Fig 1. Oil level should be up to lower edge of filler hole. Add if necessary. Install filler plug and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (25 N.m). When filling with NEW oil, remove plug (arrow). For recommended fluid, see RECOMMENDED FLUID . Top off oil to lower edge of filler hole. Install filler plug.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
