CAUTION:
On vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar ®, switch-off the emergency (back-up) battery for the Telematic/Telephone Control Module prior to disconnecting the vehicle battery. Switch-on the emergency (back-up) battery after reconnecting the vehicle battery. See EMERGENCY BATTERY, SWITCHING OFF/ON

- Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap at battery.
- Remove driver's side airbag unit. See appropriate Air Bag Restraint Systems article.
- Remove steering wheel. See appropriate Air Bag Restraint Systems article.
- Remove instrument cluster.
- Remove driver's storage compartment. See DRIVER'S STORAGE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING .
- Remove glove box. See GLOVE BOX, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Remove rear section of center console. See CENTER CONSOLE (REAR SECTION), REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Remove front section of center console. See CENTER CONSOLE (FRONT SECTION), REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
