NOTE:
This DTC can only occur if vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission. If malfunctions are recognized that are related to exhaust system, the automatic transmission switches on MIL.
- Using DVOM, check MIL circuit between PCM and TCM for a short circuit. Repair circuit as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit was repaired, erase DTC memory and test drive vehicle.
- Replace faulty TCM. Erase DTC memory and test drive vehicle. If DTC sets again, go to next step.
- Replace faulty PCM. Code new PCM and test drive vehicle. See PCM CODING in this article.
