Throttle Full Close Switch: Adjustments

1995 Audi 90 Quattro Sport V6-2.8L (AAH)SECTION Adjustments

NOTE: Adjusting the Closed Throttle Position (CTP) switch also adjusts the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).

PROCEDURE
- Remove throttle valve housing from intake manifold.
- Loosen both screws on the CTP Switch.

Throttle Position Switch/Sensor Adjustment:




- Turn CTP switch in direction of arrow (see image) until stop is reached.
^ Throttle valve (throttle linkage) must not be moved.
- Tighten CTP Switch mounting screws in this position.
- Check CTP Switch resistance readings again as outlined in CTP Testing and Inspection procedure.
- Reinstall throttle valve housing.
- Reinstall noise damper making sure noise insulation fits tightly on throttle body to prevent air leaks.

If specified resistance values cannot be obtained after adjusting:
- Replace CTP Switch.
