DTC 00526 - Stoplight Switch

  1. DTC 00526 indicates ABS control module is not receiving a stoplight switch signal. Fault may be caused by the following;
    • Both stoplight bulbs out.
    • Open circuit or short to ground in stoplight circuit.
    • Faulty stoplight switch
    • Faulty ABS control module.
  2. Ensure stoplight bulbs are okay. Check stoplight switch operation by checking measuring value block display field 05 (display field 06 on Quattro models) with VAG 1551. Check stoplight circuit for open or short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ  .
