MICU Input Test (2015-17)

NOTE:

1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

2. Disconnect under-dash fuse/relay box connectors A, D, E, M, P, and R .

NOTE:

All connector views are shown from the wire side of the female terminals.

3. Inspect the connectors and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

  • If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
  • If the terminals are OK, go to step 4.

4. With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:

  • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
  • If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 5.

There should be continuity.

M5 *1 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and audio unit connector A (24P) terminal No. 2:

M4 *2 PNK Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) Check for continuity between terminal M4 and audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) terminal No. 4:

There should be continuity.

M5 *2 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) terminal No. 2:

There should be continuity.

M4 PNK Disconnect keyless access/TPMS control unit connector C (20P) Check for continuity between terminal M4 and keyless access/TPMS control unit connector C (20P) terminal No. 1:

There should be continuity.

M5 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and keyless access/TPMS control unit connector C (20P) terminal No. 11:

There should be continuity.

M4 PNK Disconnect gauge control module 32P connector Check for continuity between terminal M4 and gauge control module 32P connector terminal No. 25:

There should be continuity.

M5 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and gauge control module 32P connector terminal No. 26:

There should be continuity.

M4 PNK Disconnect climate control unit connector A (40P) Check for continuity between terminal M4 and climate control unit connector A (40P) terminal No. 20:

There should be continuity.

M5 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and climate control unit connector A (40P) terminal No. 40:

There should be continuity.

M4 PNK Disconnect power seat control unit connector A (20P) Check for continuity between terminal M4 and power seat control unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 16:

There should be continuity.

M5 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and power seat control unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 17:

There should be continuity.

M4 *3 PNK Disconnect the automatic lighting/rain sensor 5P connector Check for continuity between terminal M4 and automatic lighting/rain sensor 5P connector terminal No. 4:

There should be continuity.

M5 *3 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and automatic lighting/rain sensor 5P connector terminal No. 3:

There should be continuity.

M4 *4 PNK Disconnect the parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector Check for continuity between terminal M4 and parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector terminal No. 22:

There should be continuity.

M5 *4 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector terminal No. 10:

There should be continuity.

M4 *5 PNK Disconnect the left side BSI radar unit 6P connector Check for continuity between terminal M4 and left side BSI radar unit 6P connector terminal No. 3:

There should be continuity.

M5 *5 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and left side BSI radar unit 6P connector terminal No. 5:

M4 *5 PNK Disconnect the right side BSI radar unit 6P connector Check for continuity between terminal M4 and right side BSI radar unit 6P connector terminal No. 3:

There should be continuity.

M5 *5 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and right side BSI radar unit 6P connector terminal No. 5:

There should be continuity.

M4 *6 PNK Disconnect the telematics control unit 36P connector Check for continuity between terminal M4 and telematics control unit 36P connector terminal No. 33:

There should be continuity.

M5 *6 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and telematics control unit 36P connector terminal No. 34:

There should be continuity.

M4 *7 PNK Disconnect the ventilated seat control unit 14P connector Check for continuity between terminal M4 and ventilated seat control unit 14P connector terminal No. 11:

There should be continuity.

M5 *7 BLU Check for continuity between terminal M5 and ventilated seat control unit 14P connector terminal No. 10:

There should be continuity.

R12 LT BLU Under all conditions Check for continuity between terminal R12 and data link connector (DLC) terminal No. 7:

There should be continuity.

An open in the K LINE wire

*1: With audio

*2: With navigation

*3: With automatic wiper

*4: With parking and back-up sensor system

*5: With BSI

*6: With AcuraLink

*7: With ventilated seat

5. Reconnect the connectors to the under-dash fuse/relay box, and do the following input tests:

  • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
  • If all the input tests prove OK, the MICU must be faulty; replace the under-dash fuse/relay box .

There should be battery voltage.

  • Blown No. A29 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
A1 BRN Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground:

There should be battery voltage.

  • Blown No. A2-5 (30 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • Faulty under-dash subrelay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
D3 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:

There should be less than 0.2 V.

  • Poor ground (G403)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
D30 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:

There should be less than 0.2 V.

  • Poor ground (G404)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
E6 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:

There should be less than 0.2 V.

  • Poor ground (G202)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
E7 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:

There should be less than 0.2 V.

  • Poor ground (G202)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
P1 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:

There should be less than 0.2 V.

  • Poor ground (G307)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
