2018 Acura RLX BaseSECTION Audio System Error Codes

NOTE: 

  • The audio system can display a few error message when some problems are detected with the audio disc player, the audio disc, the XM radio, the USB audio, or the anti-theft code. This is not a complete list of audio error messages. Refer to symptom troubleshooting.
  • Refer to Error Messages for the error about the navigation system .

CD Error Messages 

Error Message Displayed Possible Cause Solution
Bad Disc Please Check Owners Manual There is a problem with the disc player. A common problem is paper disc labels coming off the disc while in the player. Try to eject the disc and try another one. If there is still a problem, replace the audio unit or the audio-navigation unit .
Check Disc
  • There is a problem with the disc player. A common problem is paper disc labels coming off the disc while in the player.
  • Scratched disc.
Try to eject the disc and try another one. If there is still a problem, replace the audio unit or the audio-navigation unit .
Heat Error Disc player is hot. This can happen if the vehicle is parked out in the hot sun all day. Park the vehicle in a cooler place for a while and try the disc player again. Remove the audio unit or the audio-navigation unit and make sure the cooling fan is not blocked. If the error code is still present, replace the audio unit or the audio-navigation unit .
Unplayable File Track/File format not supported. Current track is skipped. The next supported track or file plays automatically.
  • Verify that CD file names end in CD-DA.
  • Verify that CD-R or CD-RW with compressed music formats end in MP3 or WMA.
  • Other file formats like iTunes (AAC) or Ogg are not recognized.
  • WMA files may have (DRM) copy protection and cannot be read.
Mecha Error
  • CD label jammed in the mechanism.
  • CD eject mechanism or motor is inoperative.
  • CD spindle motor won't spin up the CD.
Press the EJECT button and hold it for 5 seconds. If the CD does not eject, try again. If the CD still won't eject, replace the audio unit or the audio-navigation unit .

Anti-Theft Error Messages 

Error Message Displayed Possible Cause Solution
Code Error 1 Anti-theft code mismatch (1 st try). Enter the correct anti-theft code.
Code Error E Anti-theft code mismatch (10 th try). Remove the No. E11 (15 A) fuse from the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box, then reinsert it. You will have 10 more tries to enter the correct anti-theft code.

XM Error Messages 

Error Message Displayed Possible Cause Solution
Loading XM radio is acquiring audio or program information. Wait until the XM radio receives the information.
Ch Off Air XM channel not in service. Try another XM channel.
No Signal Loss of signal. Both terrestrial and satellite antennas have lost the signal. Park the vehicle outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.
Check Antenna XM antenna error. Go to Error code: Check Antenna is displayed troubleshooting .

NOTE:  Do these checks with the vehicle parked outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.

USB Error Messages 

Error Message Displayed Possible Cause Solution
Incompatible USB Device Please Check Owner's Manual Faulty power supply to USB device. If the code appears when the USB device is connected, Check for hard error codes:
Unsupported Ver. Unsupported version iPod is connected. Connect the applicable iPod (see the Owner's Manual).
USB Error There is a internal problem with the audio unit or the audio-navigation unit. Check for hard error codes:
No Data There are no files or files that are not supported on the USB device. Check the files in the USB device. There is a possibility that the files have been damaged, or are not supported.
Unsupported Unsupported USB device is connected. Connect the applicable USB device (see the Owner's Manual).
