Front Accessory Power Socket Circuit Troubleshooting 

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Test the front accessory power socket.

    Does the front accessory power socket workΩ

    YES 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. Fuse check

    -1. Check the following fuses.

    Fuse No. D13 (7.5 A)
    Location Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
    Fuse No. E13 (20 A)
    Location Passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box

    Is each fuse OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again, repair a short to ground in the No. D13 (7.5 A) and/or No. E13 (20 A) fuse circuit(s).

  3. Front accessory power socket relay check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Remove the front accessory power socket relay from the under-dash relay holder, and test it .

    Is the relay OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Replace the front accessory power socket relay, then recheck.

  4. Open wire check (+B FR ACC SOCKET line) 1

    -1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) modeFront accessory power socket relay: disconnected
    Test circuit +B FR ACC SOCKET
    Test point 1 Passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box connector E (42P) No. 11 (BLK)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Replace the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box .

  5. Open wire check (+B FR ACC SOCKET line) 2

    -1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) modeFront accessory power socket relay: disconnected
    Test circuit +B FR ACC SOCKET
    Test point 1 Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 5 (BLK)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    The +B FR ACC SOCKET wire is OK. Go to step 6.

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

  6. Determine possible failure area (front accessory power socket relay switch side circuit, front accessory power socket relay coil side circuit)

    -1. Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.

    Terminal A Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 5 (BLK)
    Terminal B Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 6 (PNK)

    Does the front accessory power socket workΩ

    YES 

    Go to step 7.

    NO 

    Go to step 10.

  7. Open wire check (ACC line) 1

    -1. Remove the jumper wire.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the ACCESSORY mode.

    -3. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle ACCESSORY modeFront accessory power socket relay: disconnected
    Test circuit ACC
    Test point 1 Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector G (16P) No. 12 (PUR)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    Go to step 8.

    NO 

    Replace the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box .

  8. Open wire check (ACC line) 2

    -1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle ACCESSORY modeFront accessory power socket relay: disconnected
    Test circuit ACC
    Test point 1 Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 7 (PUR)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    The ACC wire is OK. Go to step 9.

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

  9. Open wire check (GND line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test circuit GND
    Test point 1 Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 8 (BLK)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The GND wire is OK. Replace the front accessory power socket relay.

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the ground wire or poor ground (G503).

  10. Open wire check (FR ACC SOCKET line)

    -1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) modeFront accessory power socket relay: disconnectedFront accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 5 and No. 6: jumped
    Test circuit FR ACC SOCKET
    Test point 1 Front accessory power socket 2P connector No. 2 (PNK)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    The FR ACC SOCKET wire is OK. Go to step 11.

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

  11. Open wire check (GND line)

    -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test circuit GND
    Test point 1 Front accessory power socket 2P connector No. 1 (BLK)

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The GND wire is OK. Replace the front accessory power socket .

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the ground wire or poor ground (G503).
