PCM Reset: Procedure

2018 Acura MDX BaseSECTION Procedure
  1. HDS - Connect

    1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not start the engine.

    2. Connect the HDS to the DLC (A) located under the driver's side of the dashboard.

    3. Make sure the HDS communicates with the PCM and other vehicle systems. If it doesn't, go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting - Refer to: DLC Circuit Troubleshooting (2014 2015), or DLC Circuit Troubleshooting(Without CAN Gateway) (2016), or DLC Circuit Troubleshooting(With CAN Gateway) (2016), or DLC Circuit Troubleshooting (2017 2018), or DLC Circuit Troubleshooting (2017 2018), or DLC Circuit Troubleshooting (2019 2020)

    .

  2. PCM - Reset
    1. Select the PGM-FI system with the HDS.

    2. Reset the PCM with the HDS while the engine is stopped.

    3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 30 seconds.

    5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, and disconnect the HDS from the DLC.
