Engine Oil Pan (R20A5) (2013 2014 2015): Installation
- Oil Pan - Install
1. Remove all of the old liquid gasket from the oil pan mating surfaces, the bolts, and the bolt holes. 2. Clean and dry the oil pan mating surfaces.
3. Apply liquid gasket, (P/N 08717-0004, 08718-0003, or 08718-0009) to the engine block mating surface of the oil pan, and to the inside edge of the threaded bolt holes. Install the component within 5 minutes of applying the liquid gasket.
NOTE:
- Apply a 2.5 mm (0.098 in) diameter bead of liquid gasket along the broken line (A).
- If too much time has passed after applying the liquid gasket, remove the old liquid gasket and residue, then reapply new liquid gasket.
4. Install the dowel pins (A). 5. Install the oil pan (B) with new O-rings (C).
6. Tighten the bolts in three steps. In the final step, torque all bolts, in sequence, to 18 N.m (1.8 kgf.m, 13 lbf.ft). Wipe off the excess liquid gasket on the each side of crankshaft pulley and flywheel/drive plate. NOTE:
- Wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.
- Do not run the engine within 3 hours after installing the oil pan.
- Front Subframe - Align
1. Align the front subframe . - Transmission Jack - Remove
1. Remove the transmission jack from the front subframe. - Mid-Stiffener Mounting Bolt - Tighten
1. Tighten the mid-stiffener mounting bolt (A) to the specified torque on both sides. - CKP Sensor Connector - Connect
1. Connect the CKP sensor connector (A). 2. Install the cover (B).
- Torque Rod Bracket - Install
1. Install the torque rod bracket. - Transmission - Support
1. Support the transmission with the transmission jack and the wood block under the transmission. - Lower Torque Rod - Install
1. Install the lower torque rodΒ . - Shift Cable Cover - Install
1. Install the shift cable cover (A). - Clutch Case Cover - Install
1. Install the clutch case cover (A) and the transmission mounting bolts (B). 2. Tighten the transmission mounting bolts (B).
- Exhaust Pipe A - Install
1. Install exhaust pipe A . - A/C Compressor Bracket - Install
1. Install the A/C compressor bracket. - A/C Compressor - Install
1. Install the A/C compressor (A). 2. Connect the A/C compressor clutch connector (B).
3. Install the harness clamp (C).
- A/C Condenser Fan Shroud Assembly - Install
1. Install the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly . - Drive Belt - Install
1. Install the drive belt . - Engine Undercover - Install
1. Install the engine undercover . - Front Splash Shield - Install
1. Install the front splash shield . - Engine Oil - Refill
1. Refill the engine with engine oil .

When to See a Mechanic
