Keyless Access System Registration (KA): Procedure

NOTE:
- Check for aftermarket electrical equipment that could cause problems with keyless access operation.
- While doing the registration, keep the remote away from computers.
- While doing the registration, make sure the doors are closed.
- Programming the remote also programs the keyless transmitter.
- The keyless access/TPMS control unit can store codes from up to 6 remotes.
When Replacing the Keyless Access/TPMS Control Unit
1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) .
2. Do the registration according to the instructions on the HDS screen.
3. After registration, verify all remote related systems work normally with all remotes.
NOTE: For with remote engine start, confirm that the HDS indicates the 2-way keyless mode.
When Replacing the TCM
1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) .
2. Do the registration according to the instructions on the HDS screen.
3. After registration, verify all remote related systems work normally with all remotes, then do the procedure after replacing TCM .
When Replacing the PCM, MICU or Registration of the Remote (s)
NOTE: If replacing the keyless access/TPMS control unit, register the keyless access/TPMS control unit first.
1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) .
2. When replacing the keyless access control unit, touch the remote to the engine start/stop button.
3. When all remotes are lost, select the ON mode according to the instructions on the HDS screen, then go to step 5.
4. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
5. Select ONE-PUSH START from the SYSTEM SELECTION MENU, then enter REGISTRATION.
6. Select the appropriate items, and do the registration according to the instructions on the HDS screen.
7. After registration, verify systems work normally with all remotes. If the PCM is replaced, do the procedure after replacing PCM - Refer to: PCM Removal and Installation (With SH-AWD), or PCM Removal and Installation (Without SH-AWD) .
