DTC 2601
DTC 2601 : Display Diag: Connect
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- This navigation DTC sets when a problem (open or short) is detected in the GA-Net BUS (the Display icon is red in the System Links).
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting information .
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the hard error codes .
-2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-3. Wait for at least 2 minutes.
-4. Check for hard error codes .
Is DTC 2601 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- DTC check
-1. Check for hard error codes .
Are DTC 2605 and 2607 indicated?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Open wire check (GA BUS+ line, GA BUS- line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) Center display unit connector A (12P) -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P): disconnected Center display unit connector A (12P): disconnected Test circuit GA BUS+ Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) No. 7 (PNK) Test point 2 Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 1 (PNK) Test circuit GA BUS- Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) No. 1 (BLU) Test point 2 Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 2 (BLU) Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the center display unit .
NO
There is an open in the wire (s) between the audio-navigation unit and the center display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Determine possible failure area (GA-Net related unit, others)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Tuner unit connector A (12P) XM receiver connector A (14P) (with XM) HandsFreeLink control unit connector A (32P) (without AcuraLink) Telematics control unit connector A (36P) (with AcuraLink) -3. Check for hard error codes .
Is DTC 2601 indicated?
YES
Go to step 7.
NO
Go to step 5.
- Tuner unit check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Reconnect tuner unit connector A (12P).
-3. Check for hard error codes .
Is DTC 2601 indicated?
YES
NO: Without AcuraLink
Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit .
NO: With AcuraLink
Go to step 6.
- Telematics control unit check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Reconnect telematics control unit connector A (36P).
-3. Check for hard error codes .
Is DTC 2601 indicated?
YES
Replace the telematics control unit .
NO
- Shorted wire check (GA BUS+ line, GA BUS- line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) Center display unit connector A (12P) -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P): disconnected Center display unit connector A (12P): disconnected Tuner unit connector A (12P): disconnected XM receiver connector A (14P) (with XM): disconnected HandsFreeLink control unit connector A (32P) (without AcuraLink): disconnected Telematics control unit connector A (36P) (with AcuraLink): disconnected Test circuit GA BUS+ Test point 1 Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 1 (PNK) Test point 2 Body ground Test circuit GA BUS- Test point 1 Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 2 (BLU) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
There is a short to body ground in the wire (s) between the audio-navigation unit and the center display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
The GA BUS+ and the GA BUS- wires are not shorted to ground. Go to step 8.
- Shorted wire check (GA BUS+ line to another lines)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

YES
There is a short in the wires between the audio-navigation unit and the center display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
The SH GA BUS wire is OK. Go to step 9.
- Open wire check (GA BUS+ line, GA BUS- line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The GA BUS+ and the GA BUS- wires are OK. Go to step 10.
NO
There is an open in the wire (s) between the audio-navigation unit and the center display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Center display unit check (substitution)
-1. Substitute a known-good center display unit .
-2. Reconnect all the connectors.
-3. Clear the hard error codes .
-4. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-5. Wait for at least 2 minutes.
-6. Check for hard error codes .
Is DTC 2601 indicated?
YES
Replace the audio-navigation unit .
NO
Replace the original center display unit.
