DTC P0564-F0  : ACC Switch Signal Error

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the how to troubleshooting information .

DTC (ACC)

If DTC P0564-F0 is stored at the same time as DTC U0029-00, troubleshoot DTC U0029-00 first, then recheck for DTC P0564-F0.

  1. DTC check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then the ON mode.

    -4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    P0564-F0 ACC Switch Signal Error    

    Is DTC P0564-F0 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

  2. ACC combination switch check 1

    -1. Turn the combination light switch to ON.

    -2. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS pressing the MAIN switch, SET/- switch, RES/+ switch, and CANCEL switch of the ACC combination switch.

    Does it indicate ON when the appropriate switch is pressed, and OFF when the appropriate switch is released?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    If any switch parameter changes to ON, replace the ACC combination switch .

    NO 

    No indicator turned ON and OFF, go to step 4.

  3. Distance switch check 1

    -1. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS pressing the distance switch of ACC combination switch.

    Does it indicate ON when the switch is pressed, and OFF when the switch is released?

    YES 

    The system is OK at this time.

    NO 

    Go to step 10.

  4. ACC combination switch internal circuit check 1

    -1. Turn the combination light switch to OFF.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    Steering commander switch assembly connector A (16P)

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test circuit CRUISE SW, CRUISE GND

    Is there about 4.6 V?

    YES 

    Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Go to step 16.

  5. ACC combination switch check 3

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Check the ACC combination switch .

    Is the ACC combination switch OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 6.

    NO 

    Replace the ACC combination switch .

  6. Shorted wire check (CRUISE SW line to power) 1

    -1. Reconnect the following connector.

    Steering commander switch assembly connector A (16P)

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Gauge control module connector A (32P)

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Turn the combination light switch to ON.

    -5. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test circuit CRUISE SW

    Is there 0.1 V or more?

    YES 

    Go to step 7.

    NO 

    Check for loose or poor connections. If OK, replace the gauge control module .

  7. Shorted wire check (CRUISE SW line to power) 2

    -1. Turn the combination light switch to OFF.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    Steering commander switch assembly connector A (16P)

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Turn the combination light switch to ON.

    -6. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

      Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
      Steering commander switch assembly connector A (16P): disconnected

    Is there 0.1 V or more?

    YES 

    Go to step 8.

    NO 

    Replace the ACC combination switch .

  8. Shorted wire check (CRUISE SW line to power) 3

    -1. Turn the combination light switch to OFF.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    Cable reel connector C (20P)

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Turn the combination light switch to ON.

    -6. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

      Cable reel connector C (20P): disconnected

    YES 

    Go to step 9.

    NO 

    Repair a short to power in the wire between the ACC combination switch and the cable reel.

  9. Shorted wire check (CRUISE SW line to power) 4

    -1. Turn the combination light switch to OFF.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    Cable reel connector A (20P)

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Turn the combination light switch to ON.

    -6. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there 0.1 V or more?

    YES 

    Repair a short to power in the wire between the gauge control module and the cable reel.

    NO 

    The CRUISE SW wire is not shorted to power. Replace the cable reel .

  10. Distance switch internal circuit check 1

    -1. Turn the combination light switch to OFF.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    Distance switch 5P connector

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

      Distance switch 5P connector: disconnected
    Test circuit DISTANCE SW, CRUISE GND

    Is there about 4.6 V?

    YES 

    Go to step 11.

    NO 

    Go to step 21.

  11. Distance switch check 1

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Check the distance switch .

    Is the distance switch OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 12.

    NO 

    Replace the distance switch .

  12. Shorted wire check (DISTANCE SW line to power) 1

    -1. Reconnect the following connector.

    Distance switch 5P connector

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -3. Turn the combination light switch to ON.

    -4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there 0.1 V or more?

    YES 

    Go to step 13.

    NO

  13. Shorted wire check (DISTANCE SW line to power) 2

    -1. Turn the combination light switch to OFF.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    Distance switch 5P connector

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Turn the combination light switch to ON.

    -6. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    YES 

    Go to step 14.

    NO 

    Replace the distance switch .

  14. Shorted wire check (DISTANCE SW line to power) 3

    -1. Turn the combination light switch to OFF.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    Cable reel connector C (20P)

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Turn the combination light switch to ON.

    -6. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

      Distance switch 5P connector: disconnected
      Cable reel connector C (20P): disconnected

    YES 

    Go to step 15.

    NO 

    Repair a short to power in the wire between the distance switch and the cable reel.

  15. Shorted wire check (DISTANCE SW line to power) 4

    -1. Turn the combination light switch to OFF.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    Cable reel connector A (20P)

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Turn the combination light switch to ON.

    -6. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

      Distance switch 5P connector: disconnected
      Cable reel connector A (20P): disconnected

    YES 

    Repair a short to power in the wire between the gauge control module and the cable reel.

    NO 

    The DISTANCE SW wires are not shorted to power. Replace the cable reel .

  16. Shorted wire check (CRUISE SW line) 1

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Gauge control module connector A (32P)

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

      Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected

    YES 

    Go to step 17.

    NO 

    The CRUISE SW wire is not shorted. Go to step 26.

  17. Shorted wire check (CRUISE SW line) 2

    -1. Reconnect the following connector.

    Gauge control module connector A (32P)

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Cable reel connector C (20P)

    -3. On the cable reel side, check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    -1. Disconnect the following connector.

    -2. On the cable reel side, check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    -1. Reconnect the following connector.

    -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2 without disconnecting the cable reel connector C (20P).

    -1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2 without disconnecting the cable reel connector A (20P).

    -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2 without disconnecting the cable reel connector C (20P).

    -1. Reconnect the following connector.

    -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    YES 

    Repair an open in the wire between the distance switch and the cable reel.

    NO 

    Go to step 38.

  38. Open wire check (CRUISE GND line) 1

    -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2 without disconnecting the cable reel connector A (20P).

    Replace the cable reel .

    NO 

    Go to step 39.
