DTC 1203: DVD Temp Error (2013-18)
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- This navigation DTC sets when the internal temperature of the navigation ECU falls below - 4 ***°F (20 °C) or above 158 °F (70 °C). The unit is designed to shut down to protect the navigation ECU. This is usually caused by exterior temperatures. Do the troubleshooting when the unit is within the allowable temperature range.
- If the audio-navigation unit displays the error message when you turn on the navigation system, follow the instruction.
- Check that the fan screen on the back to the audio-navigation unit is not blocked. Clean it if necessary.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2013-15), or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2016-18) .
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Problem verification:
Check that the temperature is below 158 °F (70 °C) in the dash.

- 3. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then select the ON mode.
- 4. Check for hard error codes - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2013-15), or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2016-18) .
Is DTC 1203 indicated?
YES
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (2013-15), or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (2016-18) .
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check the audio-navigation unit cooling fan on the back of the audio-navigation unit.
