ODS Unit Replacement
Removal
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Procedures, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
2. Remove the front passenger's seat Front Seat Removal/Installation.
3. Remove the front seat back panel Front Seat-Back Cover Replacement.
4. Turn over the seat-back cover/pad as needed Front Seat-Back Cover Replacement.
5. Remove the cover (A), then disconnect the front passenger's seat wire harness 18P connector (B) and OPDS sensor connectors (C) from the ODS unit (D).
6. Remove the two bolts (E), and the ODS unit.
Installation
1. Place the ODS unit (A) on the seat-back frame. Tighten the two bolts (B), and connect the front passenger's seat wire harness 18P connector (C) and OPDS sensor connectors (D) to the ODS unit. Reinstall the cover (E).
2. Reinstall the seat-back cover/pad in the reverse order of removal Front Seat-Back Cover Replacement.
3. Reinstall the front seat back panel Front Seat-Back Cover Replacement.
4. Install the front passenger's seat Front Seat Removal/Installation.
5. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure Procedures.
6. Set the seat-back in the normal position, and make sure there is nothing on the front passenger's seat.
7. Clear any DTCs with the HDS Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
8. Do the ODS unit initialization ODS Unit Initialization.
9. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode; the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
