Ignition Coil and Spark Plug Removal/Installation

FRONT

1. Remove the engine compartment covers Service and Repair.

2. Remove the harness clamp (A) and the bolt (B), then remove the harness holder (C) from the bracket.





3. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (D), then remove the front ignition coils (E).

4. Remove the spark plugs and inspect them Testing and Inspection.

5. Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the plug threads, and screw the plugs into the cylinder head, finger tight. Torque them to 18 Nm (1.8 kg-m, 13 lb-ft).

6. Install the ignition coils in the reverse order of removal.

REAR

1. Remove the engine compartment covers Service and Repair.

2. Remove the strut brace Service and Repair.

3. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (A), then remove the rear ignition coils (B).





4. Remove the spark plugs and inspect them Testing and Inspection.

5. Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the plug threads, and screw the plugs into the cylinder head, finger tight. Torque them to 18 Nm (1.8 kg-m, 13 lb-ft).

6. Install the ignition coils in the reverse order of removal.
