Trunk Lid Adjustment
2008 Acura RLSECTION Trunk Lid Adjustment
- Remove these items:
- Trunk side trim panel, both sides (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TRUNK AREA )
- Rear shelf (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - REAR SHELF AREA )
- Trunk lid support strut, both sides (see TRUNK LID SUPPORT STRUT REPLACEMENTΒ )
- Slightly loosen the trunk hinge bolts (A).
- Adjust the trunk lid (B) alignment in the following sequence:
- Adjust the trunk lid hinges (C) right and left, as well as forward and rearward, by using the elongated holes. Take care not to hit the rear window when loosening the bolts.
- Turn the trunk lid edge cushions (D), in or out as necessary, to make the trunk lid fit flush with the body at the rear and side edges.
- Using a TORX T30 bit, loosen the striker bolts (E), and adjust the fit between the trunk lid and the trunk lid opening by moving the striker (F).
- Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
- Make sure the trunk lid opens properly and locks securely.
- Reinstall all remaining removed parts.
