Fuel Tank Replacement
2008 Acura MDXSECTION Fuel Tank Replacement
- Relieve the fuel pressure (see FUEL PRESSURE RELIEVING ).
- Drain the fuel tank (see FUEL TANK DRAINING ), then disconnect the fuel tank unit 4P connector and the quick-connect fittings from the fuel tank unit.
- Raise the vehicle on a lift.
- Remove the exhaust pipe (see EXHAUST PIPE AND MUFFLER REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the propeller shaft (see PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL ), and support it with jackstands.
- Remove the fuel tank guard (A) and fuel tank protector (B).
- Loosen the clamp (C), and disconnect the tube (D). Slide back the clamps, then twist the hoses as you pull to avoid damaging them.
- Open the clamps (E).
- Disconnect the hoses (F).
- Place a jack or other support under the fuel tank (G).
- Remove the strap bolts and the straps (H).
- Remove the fuel tank.
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
