Linear Solenoid

2004 Acura 3.5RLSECTION Linear Solenoid
  1. Linear solenoid is located on throttle valve body. Disconnect transaxle sub-harness connector. See Figure .
  2. Measure resistance between harness connector terminals No. 8 (Red wire) and No. 9 (White wire). Resistance should be 4-6 ohms at 70Β°F (20Β°C). If resistance is as specified, go to step Β 4 . If resistance is not as specified, go to next step.
  3. Remove shift cable cover. Disconnect linear solenoid harness connector from transaxle sub-harness at transaxle. Note terminal identification on linear solenoid harness connector. Measure resistance between linear solenoid harness connector terminals No 3 (White wire) and No. 4 (Red wire). Resistance should be 4-6 ohms at 70Β°F (20Β°C). If resistance is as specified, replace transaxle sub-harness. If resistance is not as specified, replace linear solenoid.
  4. Disconnect 4-pin linear solenoid harness connector. Connect battery voltage to solenoid harness connector terminal No. 4 (Red wire) and ground to harness connector terminal No. 3 (White wire). Solenoid should click. If clicking sound is heard, replace transaxle sub-harness. If no clicking sound is heard, replace linear solenoid.
