SERVICE INFORMATION
We cant emphasize enough how important it is to follow the steps in DIAGNOSIS when doing S/B 02-015 , SRS Indicator Comes On With SRS DTC(s) 15-1, 15-2, 15-3 . Tech Line gets a lot of calls from frustrated service techs who find themselves caught in an endless troubleshooting loop because they didnt read the text.
If you assume the cause of the SRS DTC(s) is a faulty OPDS unit and just replace it, without first determining the root cause of the problem, youll wind up with an SRS DTC 15-1 (faulty OPDS unit or OPDS not initialized). Until you fix the actual root cause, youll just keep getting 15-1.
You can avoid this mess, and save yourself a lot of grief, by following the DIAGNOSIS steps. The text gives you a logical path to effectively troubleshoot and fix SRS DTC problems.
