2004 Acura 3.5RLSECTION DTC P1454: Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Range/Performance Problem

for important precautions.
- Turn ignition on. Using Honda PGM Tester or the HDS, do the DTC CLEAR in the CLEAR menu.
- Turn ignition off. Remove fuel fill cap and wait 1 minute. Using Honda PGM Tester or the HDS, check the FTP SENSOR in the DATA list. If there is between 0.67 kPa (0.2 in.Hg) or 2.3-2.7 volts, problem is intermittent, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the FTP sensor and PCM. If there is more or less than 0.67 kPa (0.2 in.Hg) or 2.3-2.7 volts, go to next step.
- Remove FTP sensor with its connector connected. See "A" in Fig 1 . Using Honda PGM Tester or the HDS, check the FTP SENSOR in the DATA list. If there is between 0.67 kPa (0.2 in.Hg) or 2.3-2.7 volts, check for debris or clogging in the EVAP canister and FTP sensor. Go to next step. If there is more or less than 0.67 kPa (0.2 in.Hg) or 2.3-2.7 volts, check for debris or clogging in the FTP sensor air tube. If air tube is OK, replace FTP sensor. Go to next step.
- Install FTP sensor to the EVAP canister. Turn ignition on. With the Honda PGM tester or the HDS, do PCM RESET in the CLEAR menu. Do the PCM idle learn procedure. See PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDUREΒ . Go to next step.
- Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTC menu. If DTC P1454 is set, check for poor connections or loose terminals at FTP sensor and PCM harness connectors. Go to step Β 1 . If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are set, troubleshoot those indicated. If Temporary DTCs or DTCs are not set, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Remove fuel fill cap and wait 1 minute. Using Honda PGM Tester or the HDS, check the FTP SENSOR in the DATA list. If there is between 0.67 kPa (0.2 in.Hg) or 2.3-2.7 volts, troubleshooting is done. If there is more or less than 0.67 kPa (0.2 in.Hg) or 2.3-2.7 volts, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the FTP sensor and PCM. Go to step Β 1 .
